Paulo Mendes Taddei


I am Professor of Philosophy at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), and Researcher
at the Philosophy Graduate Program (PPGF) in that same University. My general interests lie in
the phenomenological tradition and its potential connections to analytical philosophy, broadly
construed. While my PhD-Dissertation focused on Tugendhat’s criticism of Heidegger’s
concept of truth, my current research interests concern Dreyfus’s early work – namely, his
attempt to use Merleau-Ponty, the later Wittgenstein, and Heidegger in his criticism of
classical AI
